Welcome Candidates!

Here you will find an itinerary for each week of Candidacy. Each week will have a list of RP hooks, vignette challenges, and a list of events you can sign up for! Are you excited, Candidates? Well, you should be, because we here at C7Co are, too! Lets make this a fun and character building experience, yeah? Please note that none of the scene suggestions are mandatory, they are there simply to foster ideas for RP, though we strongly urge you to try a few of them out. After all, being on the map is important!

Tiny Plots are Optional and Fun!

We strongly encourage Candidates to come up with TPs to run during Candidacy. There were two run last cycle and watching them unfold was a lot of fun. TPs foster team building and opportunities for RP, and a chance for group story building and character development. If you would like some advice or help, feel free to contact your Candidate Coordinator, S'ayde! Otherwise, please @send *isc with any TP ideas and wait for approval before implementing them.

While TPs are not mandatory, we love seeing how creative you can get! So get together with your fellow candidates and brainstorm something fun!

A Little Note On Events and Egg Touchings

There will be at least one Egg Touching and Event per week run by your Candidate Coordinator, S'ayde! If you happen to check this page or with your fellow Candidates and nothing is scheduled, please contact S'ayde and he will get one set up for you!

PS: It can take between five and fifteen minutes for your name to show up on the sign up sheets, so please do not submit your forms more than once.

Weekly Itineraries

Scene Tags

Week One: September 3rd-9th(Closed)

  • Laundry Duty: Everyone just knows that Candidates are there to give chores to! So let's just say this week's chore is Laundry, the most dreaded chore, like…ever!
  • Help a Rider: Part of a Candidate's duties is to do whatever a rider might ask them to do. Get enlisted to help a rider with something this week - help deliver something, carry a message, help them with their shopping.
  • Candidate Robes: You'd better start planning those puppies NOW because man does that Hatching sneak up on you! Best start working on them! Do you need to draw a pattern? Do you know how to sew? Can someone or a fellow Candidate teach you? What supplies do you need? Is a chaperoned trip to the Bazaar needed?

Week Two: September 10th-16th (Closed)

  • Inventory: Y'know, the stores and supply caverns are always in such disarray. Who better to take inventory and clean things up? You guessed it - Candidates!
  • Stable Duty: One of the banes of a Candidate's life is stable duty. A whole day of mucking stalls would make anyone grumpy, but it's all in honest preparation for weyrlinghood, we swear!
  • Swing Shift Take a turn as wait staff in the living caverns for a banquet event. Wait and bus tables, roll silverware, pour drinks, serve appetizers.

Week Three: September 17th-23rd (Closed)

  • Fresh Air…NOT: Pull weeds in the kitchen gardens! Run laps around the lake! Play foot messenger or help out a caravan!
  • Free Day: GASP! SHOCK! ALARM! The Candidates get a rest day!
  • Flight Q&A: Grab a rider and question them about flights and what comes with them.
  • Physicals: Yes, physicals. The Weyr has to make sure you're all healthy and ready to go for potential weyrlinghood before you step on the Sands, after all! Don't whine (or do, if you want); everyone's gotta do it.

Week Four: September 24th-30th (Closed)

  • Making Candles: There is always a need for emergency candles in a weyr. After all, what if there was a glow shortage like they had in Southern? Best be safe rather than sorry.
  • Physicals: Yep, these are still happening! There are so many of you, after all.
  • Zingari PT: Take a dance class for physical health with a Zingari dancer, Try to learn to walk a tightrope, try trick riding or juggling.

Week Five: October 1st-7th (Closed)

  • Double PT: Weyrlings are expected to be fit to keep up with their bonds! PT sessions have doubled!
  • Hauling Trash To The Midden: Hey, someone has to do it, right?
  • Candidate Ditch Day: It's kind of like Senior Ditch Day!

Week Six: October 8th-12th (CLOSED)

  • Sands Etiquette Training: There are certain rules to be learned when entering the Hatching Sands. See if you can snag a few fellow Candidates, or just yourself, and ask a goldrider, bronzerider, or SCo Member about Sands etiquette. Also remember to read the Hatching Manners page on the wiki.
  • PT and Harper Classes: Get out and do some PT or get a Harper Lesson.
