Description

His is the kind of face that clearly held the charm of innocence in youth: wide brow, wide brown eyes, a well-defined but not overly large nose; pleasantly balanced mouth and softly-pointed chin. As a young man, the innocence is gone but the charm is increased in spades; there in the twinkle of eye and there-and-gone curl of well-formed mouth. There is something a touch rakish there, too, in the wind-swept tousle of dark brown hair and oft-furrowed 'brow; a pirate, aye, but not hard with it. He is built long, wider of shoulder than of hip, and would be lean but for the days of honest labor (if not honest work) that have endowed an otherwise lanky frame with a decent serving of muscle.

The simplest and finest of clothing for a less-than-simple life, or rather the simplest clothing he can manage to get his hands on: Matvei's wardrobe is made of knee-high boots, a variably present knee-length coat with a high collar, a threadbare sisal white buttondown that he most likely didn't pay for, and serviceable twill pants. Upon looking closely enough one may also be able to identify a fine sheen of feline hair.

Common Knowledge

  • Definitely shies away from a fight; the general scuttlebutt is that he's a nutty pacifist. Either way, he doesn't like the idea of even so much as throwing a punch.
  • Loves cats, a popular opinion around these parts.
  • Snarky smart-alec, but the kind who is pretty good at smooth-talking the right people when he needs to. Uses this skill to represent his captain and ship in port and politely lure what he wants to know out of unexpecting conversationalists.
