Description

Warm chocolate brown hair is carelessly cut so that the random waves don't fall into darkly glimmering eyes with eyelashes to die for. Thick straight eyebrows anchor a slightly tilt-tipped nose and the upward curl of full lips. Freckle-dusted olive skin covers his oval face, only now starting to sprout stubble. While he is still young, his height and physique suggest that one day this teenager will be a large man, but for now he's mostly just awkward.

Dragonriders are not the only folks who need a wardrobe of wherhide. Stanov currently sports a sleeveless jerkin in that ubiquitous material. Underneath this is a simple grey long sleeved tunic. Rough-woven work pants also follow this dark monochromatic pallet before being tucked into heavy work boots. His clothing choices are for the most part, dictated by his need for hardwearing, and easily cleaned protective covering.

History

Stanov is the younger brother of Sorvani, one of only two children to survive their parent’s union. He is seven turns younger than his sister, and given the nature of his childhood was not encouraged to be close to her while they were growing up. When their parents died when he was six, he was absorbed into Igen Weyr’s crèche with little fuss. The rough and ready communal child rearing helped him overcome the trauma of his past and he spent the turns growing into a confident weyrbrat with a decidedly technical bent. When he was twelve he applied to apprentice with the Smiths and was accepted, and has been rather happily smithing ever since.

Shortly before his fifteenth turn, his sister managed to track him down. While they were not super close growing up, the freedom from their father’s fist, and the earnest desire to have proper family has seen the pair grow close in a relatively short period of time. In order to be closer to his sister, Stanov began the long process of arranging a transfer to the Southern Smiths. This was facilitated by A’hali (Sorvani’s boyfriend) who not only spoke to the smiths and carried messages, but also transported Stanov to his new home once the formalities were complete. Now comfortably installed in Southern, Stanov is excited to continue his lessons and learn about this new home his sister has found for them.
