Two-word Concept: Malty Meddler

Personality: It is probably disappointing to her parents that Xalya has turned out like she has, love her though they do. Mostly because of how very unsettled she is. How little she learned of subtlety and politics and propriety. Think about that for a moment. SEACRAFTERS are worried about their darling little girl's sense of subtlety. She is good-hearted, or, at least, not mean-spirited, but is disinclined to leave lie things that could be better, tinkering, meddling, prying, prodding. It is a great boon, perhaps, that she showed skill with Vintercraft, because folk take care not to upset potential sources of booze.

Physicality: Light brown hair, long and given to waves, weaves into a thick and complex braid that trails down Xalya's back. Tendrils escaped, wind tossed, luff around a face with broad cheekbones, a wide jaw and narrow chin frame wide slate-colored eyes and thin, oft-smiling lips. She is slight, narrow-shouldered, narrow-hipped with modest curves. There is strength in the way she moves, youth or some inherent vigor that time will not touch.

Wearingality: A long scarf of deep rose winds around shoulders, embroidered and woven sparingly with glittering beadwork. Layered robes of cream and pale rose sweep to the ground. The tooled tips of a pair of well-turned boots appear from under the hem when skirts swirl.

Relationships

History

Born and raised in Tillek, the daughter of Raxar & Miliya, Xalya has one brother, R'xim, rider of bronze Shalnth, stationed in Igen. She grew up sailing and fishing and working alongside her mother and, just like Miliya, makes killer redfruit pastries. The recipe and the knack are hereditary it seems. She was tiny when big brother Rix was Searched away by riders from High Reaches Weyr. Just four turns old. Because he came home often (coughMama'sBoycough) he was very much a part of her life. She got over hating dragons (they took her brother away!) and grew fond of Shalnth and Kadanth (because F'dan totally visited too) over the turns. She Apprenticed at Fishercraft Hall, but her heart wasn't in the work despite the doors that her parents could open for her. She had a knack for growing things and the mind for the subtle chemistry of brewing and distilling, finally Apprenticing to family friends, a husband and wife, both Vintners assigned to Tillek Hold. She started late, but learned swiftly and has recently been assigned with a delegation of Crafters to Southern Weyr in furtherance of her studies.
