Description

Young and pretty, that is about the only way to describe this teenager, who might just be mistaken for one much younger than he is based purely on his height. He was short, not just a little, but a lot. There wasn't a single part of his five foot nothing frame that isn't lanky, in that awkward transition between childhood and adulthood times by about a billion. Atop his head is a mass of thick straight black hair left a bit longer towards the front but still boyish as it's shorter and tapered at the sides and back. The fullness of the top is swept usually off to the right side, but tends to fall forward into his face often, requiring it to be flicked out of the way or brushed back aside. His brows are on the thinner side, arched at their ends, set above an enormous pair of amber colored eyes on opposite sides of a long and slim nose. Beneath this, a full set of lips, which always seem to be smiling even when he is not. Everything about him is slender, to the degree of calling him petite. Compact? Yeah, he's small. As delicately built as he appears, there is a quickness of energy about him, a joy for life that might just be contagious even when curled up beneath a tree reading in relative silence.

He wears a pair of tan suede pants, tucked into calf high dark brown leather boots. His sweater is somewhat oversized and untucked, colored the shade of purest ivory, over which several belts are looped at his hips simply for style rather than function. One slim wrist bears several bracelets in braided leather, runner hair, or macrame.

Relationships

History

Daxmer's parents had one of those complicated love/hate relationships. This didn't change with the premature birth of their son, who lived primarily with his mother until he was "more manageable". Between the ages of six and twelve he bounced in half turns between Ista and High Reaches, which was interesting to say the least, considering the drastic difference in climates between the two regions. In those younger days, due mostly to a healer diagnosed 'delicate disposition', it meant a near constant state of illness or general malaise. However, as he got older he grew out of it and he bounced back to a state of perpetual health and energy. Boundless, his father called it. At twelve, he entered the harper's craft, finding himself quite the niche in string instruments, voice and musical composition.

It was at fourteen he was first approached by a shy young lady who blushed furiously as she told him how 'cute' she thought he was, thus beginning a long running series of attempted courtships initiated by both girls and boys. On Daxmer's side of things, was a truly awkward attempt at flirtation in return, none of which amounted to anything substantial. Well, other than a confirmation of his own suspicions that his proclivities leaned entirely towards those of his own gender. Nice to know, as it made things considerably less confusing in the long run, but not the focus of his short life's pursuit.

When he was seven told his mother his dream was to be Master Harper of Pern someday. At fifteen, this dream hadn't changed. He was discreetly ambitious without being malicious or manipulative, intended to obtain his goal through hard work rather than taking that darker path. With a neutral location in mind, he finds himself at Southern Weyr with the sort of timing that couldn't have been more ironic. Informed on landing that a storm of epic proportions was headed directly for his new home, he hoped with eyes raised towards the sky, that this wasn't some sort of foreshadowing of his impending future.
