Description

Jorlen is a young lad standing about 5'8 with a somewhat slender frame of about 130lbs. His face is a little narrow with brown eyes and light brown hair that is never quite straight. A 3 inch scar runs down the outside of his right shoulder. His hands and forearms are a little more muscular than the rest of his build.
Jorlen is wearing a simple work tunic and pants secure with a plain and simple belt around his waist and a somewhat nicer looking pair of well padded leather sandles A green firelizard is perched on his shoulder.

Common Knowledge

Jorlen was part of the time migration forward to this pass.
His instrument of choice is hammered dulcimer. (Which Anne has said is on Pern)

History

Jorlen grew up with his parents at Benden hold in the 10th interval. His parents were both vinters helping to make some of that famous Benden wine. His father collapsed working the wine press when Jorlen was about 5 leaving his mother to raise him alone.
Jorlen was rather restless growing up and didn't show much aptitude for working around Benden so being a vinter like his parents was out. When the riders came back to bring people forward, Jorlen was sent forward by his mother who either didn't come or didn't survive the trip. He was taken in by a harper at Fort Hold where he eventually apprenticed and was sent to the crafters at Southern when he made Senior Apprentice.
