Violine
Location Southern Weyr
Position Sr. Apprentice
Craft Healer
Birthplace Blackrock Seahold

Description

Light brown skin is smooth, covered in soft freckles that cluster about her eyes and nose, and span thin arms and legs. Her hair is black and curly, the curls large and soft and often pulled high in a bun to stay out of her way. When let free, it falls past her shoulders in a tumble of poof. Eyes are hazel, flecked in honey and black. She is on the tall side of average, slim, and strong.

Common Knowledge

Violine is a perfectionist when it comes to her studies, she does not enjoy being anything but the best. She abhors people who procrastinate or in any way slack off. She will let you know this. Repeatedly.

She does not break the rules often, but, there are times when she suddenly realizes that she's growing up and she isn't participating in a lot of the young people shenanigans that go along with that experience. So, given the right setting and the right coercion, she can be game.

Though strict with her craft and her loyalty to work well done, she's actually a fairly enjoyable friend when relaxed. A glass of wine or two (when breaking the rules) helps bring that out in her.

Relationships

A few friends stationed with her under the same Journeyman, though her dogged attention to the apprenticeship usually keeps her away from the deeper social connections the others have.

History

Violine grew up in a sea hold, and from an early age was taught by her mother about the uses of herbs and things that grew in and by the sea to aid in the healing of hand wounds that often come with fishermen. Her interest and talent in healing was evident, and when a Journeyman healer came to the hold on a visit with family, she basically told him he wasn't leaving without her.

She threw herself into her studies at the Hall and was nearly always towards the top of her class. She was determined to moving forward in the craft, not having to head back to her small hold and become a wife and mother when her talents were so clearly better spent here. She didn't make many friends, though she had plenty of acquaintances in classes. The truth was, she just studied longer, harder, and with more vigor than many other students. This kept her away from a lot of the bonding that was done.

The lack of bonding however was a boon, in that she felt no attachment when a position under a healer Journeyman at Southern became available and she was chosen to go. She'd never seen a dragon up close, and the idea of expanding her healing to include dragons and maybe even firelizards, excited her.
