The Eggs!!!
Seven Hundred Years of Enjoyment Egg
Rich and deep shades of chocolate and coffee brown mingle to perfection across the egg's shell, largely unbroken by any other hue or color. Only a ring of lighter nutmeg brown indicates a break, lending to an illusion of bread and where one can also glimpse a darker brown, smoother paste-like centre.
A rim of spotless white porcelain carefully contains the softy creamy yellows that have been whipped together on the surface of this shell. Maybe Rajakhelath has been keeping this particular egg just a little bit too toasty on the sands as on the opposite side of the egg, the paler custardy shades have been replaced with a caramelized beauty of golden yellows singed with umber.
Layers of chocolate lay thick and moist looking at the base of this ovoid, creating the bottom layer of this confectioners delight! Rising upward a thick layer of cherry red mimics the layer below, looking like a soft, spongy cake. This rises into layers of creamcheese white. All of this drizzled in a deep, syrup like red with crumbles of chocolaty goodness mixed throughout.
Encased Beauty in Clear Glass Egg
If a droplet of water could be frozen in time and made solid, then it would be the clear prison of this egg's shell. Colors blend and weave to trick the eye into believing it is transparent in spots, like the smoothest of glass. Beneath the surface, the sweetest shades of cotton candy pink and pastel hues of green, blue and yellows are delicately placed in the shape of petals and leaves — a literal bouquet of sugar trapped beneath a gelatinous layer. Beautiful to behold and such a shame to consume.
Either from the bosom of Liberty or some god-given prerogative to the deity of fire, comes this egg nurturing a base of fire-flecked orange and broad bronze, truly an egg from Rajakhelath. A bulging middle sees gold-color stretched and reaching for a pale offering, small and easily singed. There is one spot on the egg's very bottom where one of the pale things has turned black as charcoal- some sort of redress for the services of primal fire.
Everywhere you can look on this egg, golden brown pastry swirls with darker spirals of rich cinnamon, the colors practically baked together. The spirals aren't perfectly round as where each one pushes up to its neighbor, the edges smoosh together making them slightly squarish. Over all of this, a drizzling of frosty white oozes and drips into any little crevice.
Can an egg be bawdy? This egg will certainly try. From a base that is a normal enough deep tan, things just escalate from there. White frosting drips down the curves of the shell, coated in a fine layer of tiny, shimmering squares of deep emeralds, royal purple and nearly golden yellows. Strings of garish beads in the same bright colors stream about the egg and if you look carefully enough, is that a tiny pink limb sticking out?
Glimpse of Goodness Within Egg
This egg has settled and nestled into a comfortably flattish profile on the Sands, where it's gently baking. Pale biscuit tones are marked by a couple of darker slashes across the top that hint at an opening to something enclosed within. The surface is speckled with tiny grains of golden brown.
There's a savory/sweet quality to this ovoid that makes one think of the harvest pies made in the fall. Rich burnt orange speckled with spice like reds and browns melts over the shell of this one. Reaching up about a third of the way from the base is a baked sandy tan that reaches the top of the egg from only one side. Dolloped atop like a crown is a swirl of cream and egg white.
Although this egg will probably be hardening right along with its fellows on the sands, it certainly doesn't look like it. Even the slightest head turn can make the cheery cherry reds and lively lime cubes that decorate it's surface shimmer and shiver into each other. While most of this egg is composed of joyful, simple colors, suspended among the gaiety is a dark, dark secret. Who slipped a fingerclaw onto this shell?
The excitement within this egg can barely be contained on such a smooth surface. The soft whites and creams composing the base of this egg are interrupted by an explosion of sprinkles every color of the rainbows. Red, yellow, blue, green, pink, you name it and the small rectangular splashes of color can be found, but they aren't the only bits of color. Bits of multicolor wax appear to trail down the sides as a tiny flick of flame bright orange rests on the top of the egg. A flicker here and a flicker there as the light moves, but it hasn't been extinguished yet.
Sweet and Salty Perfection Egg
Is your mouth watering yet? It should be! Layers of chocolate stacked on top of peanut butter brown swirl over the curved shell of this egg. Shades of chocolaty brown range from milk chocolate, to dark chocolate, all dancing playfully around that thick peanut butter brown. Pocked all over the shell, are little salty granules, meant to counter the sweet and nutty richness held within.
Somewhat flatter than its fellows, this egg is a decent size and surprisingly hefty for its girth. shiny red-brown covers its surface in lustrous swirls, while delicate ivory swirls into the brown, spangled here and there with bits of a lighter brown. It's smooth to the touch over the brown parts, a wonderful glaze of delicate colour.
This egg is so unremarkable that it might be remarkable — it is perfectly round except where it should be a little pointier. One half is brown, and one half is white, though the two colors are not split down a perfect midline so much as occasionally leeching into one another's spaces in a look reminiscent of dripping paint.
Although a little more squat than its brethren, the surface of this egg is a rich toasty brown. Its top is delectably dark with a creamy covering of white, with flecks and sprinkles as it gives way to a lighter, more mild brown in the middle, almost a yellowish colour. Interspersed are those flecks of brown, like a crumbly constant spread throughout, as though it had been rolled about while still damp; sometimes the colour of the hatching sands, sometimes darker. Its bottom rounds out to the same dark band as the top in a freckle-spattered gradient.
Large swirls of deep chocolate brown and creamy pale pink compete for dominance over the surface of this egg, the onlooker almost unable to tell if it's actually pink-with-brown-on-it or brown-with-pink — though on a fourth or fifth glance, the brown is winning. Interrupting the swirls and flowing perpendicular is a single, hand width around ring of palest white, textured and angled as if to appear almost flaky.
Sticky sweet amber syrup has solidified into the base of this small egg. From this morass of molasses, nearly uniform ovals of pecan brown have been scattered this way and that. There's no uniform pattern to their distribution, but the edges of the nutty spots along with the little ridges running down their centers add what looks like a bit of a wavy texture along the surface of the shell.
Golden-brown of the fluffiest, spongiest kind of pancake are sandwiched on either ends of this rounded egg. They wrap around most of the smooth shell, only… Did someone already take a slice or bite out of it? A diagonal line cuts across the middle of the egg's shell and only from that angle does it reveals a sweet looking reddish dark brown centre.
Yuletide Confection Confession Egg
On one vertical hemisphere of this egg is a perfectly plain, or plainly perfect, off-white beige egg. Its size is within comfortable expectations, its shell texture sporting a slight grain to it. On the other side are daubs of evergreen and scarlet in uneven patches of color that maybe tried to be contained to a shape, but something dripped outside of those perfect perimeters. Opposing sides can only agree that each has the right to exist.
Consisting mostly of whites and brown, this little egg is trying to be a good little egg. It's not a show of like some of its siblings. As perfectly creamy as the whites might be, those sections of dense cinnamon specked brown batter just happen to be flicked with matchstick slivers of orange. Who slipped those in there?
Rich, jet black loam has been crumpled and heaped into the form of this hefty egg. Beneath the cracks of the dark soil's surface, hints of creamier brown can be spotted. Wiggling up through it all are slender grubs, but these are no ordinary grubs! When's the last time you saw a neon green and yellow bug or red and orange creepy crawlie?
Pleasantly plump, this egg is awash with blushing pink and pastel orange crescent segments. Specks of cinnamon have been generously spread throughout the shell. And wherever anything else might be missing? A lovely golden brown crust might not be perfect, but it'll settle into any gaps. Finishing it all of is a cool dollop of cream crowning the top of this egg.
A shell of sandy off-white might have been hard to notice on the Sands were that its only identifying feature, but this egg has a rippled texture running over the majority of it. It's also a little … well, it's kinda flat on top, though not in a way that seems to be disturbing the dragon within. Just slightly to the left of the very tip-top (flat as it may be), a rounded, smooth splotch of maroon, just frustratingly off from being a perfect equilateral triangle dominates its upper third.
Palest yellow cream settles into the curves of this egg. The smooth surface is occasionally interrupted by circular bands of golden brown cookies alternating with other layers of light white cut fruit. Dollops of white cream crown the top of this egg, sprinkled with just a touch more of the cookie crumbs.
Many eggs will have a single unifying theme, but not this egg. It's as if it can't decide exactly what it wants, so it threw in everything plus the kitchen sink! A base of spongy yellow is soon interrupted by paler slices that look a bit like sliced redfruit only to be replaced by the next striation of cinnamon flecked batter encompasses a strip of bright orange filling. And the cherry on top? Klah dark cake surrounds the dark red fruit crowning this particular shell. Hopefully it'll all stick together until hatching.
When Life Gives You Lemons Egg
From the pale brown base of this egg, a tart and cheery yellow nearly as bright as the brightest Istan citrus fruit curves up the shell. The color may be uniform on most of the surface, but the top is dusted a sprinkling of powdery white.
A brown so deep at first it may appear black encases the surface of this shell. The monochromatic palette could be simple, but closer inspection can find fudgey swirls and dark chocolate curls mixed in. The top half of the egg is textures, almost as if someone took a knife to it and spread the cocoa colored icing this way and that.
With unerring precision, delicate bands of amber and tan alternate to form the shape of this egg. The tan layers have a nearly flaky appearance and appear as if baked to near golden perfection, while the amber turns almost fluid as it oozes around the curvature of the shell. In between each layer, a textured section of walnut chunks and pistachio pieces look as if it'd be bumpy to the touch.
Large in size and somewhat elongated, the overall look of this egg is… simple. Compared to some of the other eggs around it, it will stand out on its own sheerly for the lack of any fancy coloring. Toasted dark brown frames either end, while the middle remains a rather enticing and inviting sponge-like honeyed yellow. Who says you have to be fancy to be delicious?
From afar, it looks as though there's a small fiery centre and core to this egg, where flames are then bordered in a rich midnight-coffee brown. Closer inspection will reveal that the flames are not fire at all, but of a more summer berry shade in the largest strawberry known to mankind. Only the very polar edges of this egg are the natural white-like coloring, each end rounded to an almost perfected circular shape.
