Central Bazaar
All roads in the weyr ultimately lead here, to this center of commerce. Canvas awnings jut out over time worn, sandy cobblestone, sheltering customers and wares alike from the majority of Igen's elements, and funnel scents both mouthwatering and vomit inducing through the thin streets. Almost all store fronts are open air, delineated by sandstone arches with intricately carved facades. The insides of these stone-shingled buildings act as an amplifier for the salesmens' bawled enticements, and are held up by the chipped swirls of marble pillars.

With the surge in prospective clients thanks to the arrival of the oldtimers, it was easy for Lonzo to convince his brother and eventually his stubborn father to set up a much more permanent presence in the rather crowded Bazaar. The young man is currently talking to a crafter about a large runner skin with the mottled white and brown pattern to the hair. There is a small hint of a smile on his lips as he watched the youth flip up a corner to look at the condition of the leather. Just over his shoulder a trio of runners stand placidly, ears and tails flicking away little flying things that bug them.

Nell is wandering through the bazaar not really looking at any thing in particular. Light dusting of sand is a good indication that she is bunking with her dragon in a sand wallow somewhere outside of the weyr, at least for now. A bit of fluttering cloth catches her eye for a moment, then she's walking past the shop. After all, so far as she's concerned she has perfectly serviceable clothing. It isn't her fault if people of this time don't see the practicality of her attire. Lonzo is spotted, and she gives the young man a nod, and an apologetic grin for the last time she saw him. After all, her dragon had decided to stalk his runner.

Maybe it's a flash of her pale hair or maybe that sense that someone is watching at him, Lonzo glances up and past the crafter to rider behind. There is a flash of recognition, maybe a flash of embarrassment, but the shadows from his woven hat keep the flush from really showing well. Slowly he inclines his head to the girl in acknowledgment. "Jun." A boy near Lonzo's elbow, and looking rather bored, straightens suddenly. "Finish helping…" he motions to the crafter. It's only once the boy nods that Lonzo slides out from behind the stall and moves after the green rider. "Excuse me…"

At the sound of Lonzo's voice, Nell pauses in her wanderings, "Yes?" she can't hide the flush of her own embarrassment as easily as the young man can with his wide brimmed hat. She'd slide behind someone taller than herself, if only there were such a person currently in the bazaar.
Except maybe the Trader following her, but not by much. Maybe it's her own flush that brings Lonzo up short. He hadn't expected that. "I…." Wait? Why did he follow her? For a moment there is an awkward silence from the teen, til he's jostled by a passing person. "Oh. I wanted to apologize. For just bolting when you were just helping. It was rude of me." He inclines his head a bit in respect. "Especially, to a rider."

Nell chuckles as she shakes her head, "Not at all. Way was just being stupid is all," she can't help the easy smile that settles on her face, and reaches up into her eyes, "Wayneth thinks she should be friends with everyone, even animals she would normally eat. Silly thing actually plays with the beasts in the feeding pens," the eye roll she gives is one of afectionate annoyance, "It's myself who needs to apologize," she finally says.

"For the nature of your lady? Wayneth you said?" Lonzo waves away Nell's apology with the sweep of his hand and a slight smile that tugs up the corner of his mouth. "I should know better than to wonder to the lake riding food." He seems to relax some now that he's said what he felt he needed, shoulders shifting down a little. The hand that dismissed her apology is now offered to the lady. "I best not be rude again, my name is Lonzo."

Nell laughs, "Way was the one being rude. She really does know better," she accepts the offered hand, "Nell, rider of Green Wayneth," she adds. She looks round the bazaar, "Actually I was wondering if you knew where I could get some good leather for making riding straps with? I've marks set aside for just that purchase," her tone of voice is one of ernest inquiry.

"Pleasure." The greenrider's hand is given a small squeeze of acknowledgment, before Lonzo lets it go, shifting this thoughts to more of business. "Ah. There are many that have leather, but I've recently brought in a load of hides and leather from my families cothold." He motions to his stall, stepping aside a little to indicate that she should proceed him. "If you care to look, maybe you can find something to suit your needs." On the long boards that make up the trader's stall there are indeed stacks of both runner hides with the hair still attached, in lovely natural colors and leather that's been worked over to ready it for other uses. Enough to keep them talking for while in the bustle of the bazaar.
