"I don't know that you would be happy without yours," she's not met a rider yet that could say they would be, and be speaking truth.

Mirror Hall

Shadows dance and flicker from the stolen light of those who dare brave past the risky turbulence of the ice stream: stolen light, bouncing and reflecting at odd angles in this strange, winding way. Surrounding the path in surreality, sheets of translucent ice tower at every angle as the stream dives under the glacier proper and out of sight. The effect is having one's reflection constantly tossed back from all directions, a dizzyingly discombobulating phenomenon. Curves hide where this passageway leads, though a strange, far-off light seems to promise more room if only one continues to move forward. Careful of the step, here ice reigns supreme and only the most fleet footed walk without the devilish ice seeking to cause footfalls to stumble.

COLD! That is the theme of the day today for Th'res and his bluedragon as he is back at the barrier hold on the snowy tundra. But This morning he is not alone, instead he seems to have dragged a poor Dolpineer along for ride. Clad in some thicker boots and that long multi-colored scarf of his, that has to be draped over his shoulders like a mantle, walks slowly next to Novi as they enter the cavern saying "If you feel like you need to fall just grab my arm ok.." Because It would look really bad if she came back with a broken limb after all..

Cold is right! The moment her feet hit the ground, Novi begins to shivver. This from a young woman who spends long hours in icy cold water without blinking an eye, and yet the icy environs have her shivvering. She gives Th'res a nod, "We're here to..?" is asked as she quirks an eyebrow upward, and tilts her head to look up at the bluerider. As for a broken bone would be nothing new for the dolphineer.

Th'res chuckles and looks over at her before, handing her a heavy cloak to put on. "To experiance new horizons dear, and to avoid the Rising Queen. I mean I don't know how well you non-riders handle it but this one" He motions to Jedameth "Doesn't like to hold back and well I just don't like dealing with that." His laugh echoing off the polished walls of cave.

Novi nods as she accepts the cloak. Her rucksack is back at the Weyr, so anything she may have to ward off the cold isn't with her, "It doesn't bother me over much," the lie is well practiced, "though there are some that it would do well if they could get far away," she keeps her eyes ahead, and on the ground the better to keep her footing.

Th'res is no stranger to the 'I'M FINE' lie practiced by most people, since he too is a card carrying member of it. "Yeah, never know what is going to happen in those things." He walks slowly allowing the lady her own pace as they move saying "Have you ever been up here before?"

Novi gives a shake of her head, "I'm more at home on a beach, or in the water than where snow blankets the ground," she answers. Thought of the dolphins brings a smile to Novi's face, "Dolphins are always a good distraction," those words are nothing but truth for her.

Th'res nods and stops walking, to stand next to one of the smooth polished walls saying "Look up, you can't see anything with your head down." It is a slight tease, but he does try to get her to open up abit. Being lost in your own thoughts is never a good thing, he should know, as he stares at the reflections in the walls he says "Have you ever seen anything like this before?"

"Can't say I have," Novi says as she looks around, careful of her footing, "Spent most my life on Ista, not much snow to be found there," she continues. Not much, more like none at all, "Weather's not bad, though the summer storms can get a bit intense," grin.

Th'res standing in the cold he seems more relaxed "I am used to the cold, and sometimes the heat still gets me.." When she talks about storms he looks at her "Oh? How so? i mean I have seen regular storms but can't say I have stayed at Ista longer than a day or two."

Novi watches the rider for a moment, "Storms that can rage for days, and when they're done leave half a cothold in need of repair," she answers, "Only seen one that bad in my life, and me too young to fully remember it," a shrug is given, "But I'll take the heat and humidity over snow and ice any day, even if it means dealing with strong storms."

Th'res nods and says "and how are you weathering the storm from the hatching?" Because he was there when she was left on the sands, and that is a harsh feeling that doesn't go away no matter how much one is distracted.

Novi gives a small shrug, "The ocean is as much home to me as the land," she'd spent most of her life on the seas around Ista, and then in them once she'd become an apprentice for Dolphincraft, "so being left standing wasn't so harsh as it could have been. I have my craft, and my pod to keep me busy."

Th'res nods "A craft is good thing to have, I am sometimes sad I left mine.." He reaches out and touches the wall with a gloved hand before adding "Not that I would trade for it now mind you, I don't know what I would be with out that dragon.."

"I was happy for everyone that did Impress, but kind of relieved to be left standing," Novi admits, "I'm not sure it's always a bad thing to be left standing, and sometimes if there's a dragon, it takes a while to be found by the beast," she thinks for a moment, "I don't know that you would be happy without yours," she's not met a rider yet that could say they would be, and be speaking truth.

Th'res nods and grins at the young woman "Well that I am sure you are right about…" He looks around then says "How about we head to the Klah Bark, and get you warmed up? Can't have you catching bone chill or firehead now can we." He will guide the dolpineer back towards the Hold proper and up the many flights of stares to the cafe at the top, taking time to relax and wait out the Queens flight in warmth and piece. And who knows maybe even become better friends?!
