Taliveth's weyr

A decent sized weyr, or maybe it's the sparse furnishings that make it seem so roomy. Towards the back is a curtained off alcove that acts as a bedroom, and another alcove houses a nice little kitchenette and some shelving for ingredients, pots and pans and utensils. There's a small desk pushed up against the left wall with a little stool to sit upon, and on the opposite side of the room is a small, round, beat-up looking table and two wooden chairs; one has a clearly uneven leg and is being kept straight with a book shoved beneath it. A large tan pelt of some animal lies on the floor beneath the table in some attempt at decorating maybe? Taliveth's sandy bed isn't far from the desk, and on the wall above the brown's sleeping space is a pretty acceptable charcoal rendition of Vulheimurath's face, framed and hung up (IT'S NOT CREEPY, DON'T YOU JUDGE HIM-). Straps, riding gear and supplies have a storage area near the weyr entrance. Everything is clean and basic and pretty boring. The minimal seating options give a definite air of someone who prefers to be alone.

It is the fifty-fifth day of Summer and 99 degrees. The night is clear and humid.

Tonight is a cozy night at home for A'ndi and Taliveth apparently. It's a lovely warm evening outside, nice and quiet besides the whoosh of the river far below. Tali is curled in his bed of sand with A'ndi seated nearby, examining the claws of one of the large rusty-brown forepaws. "Are you going to want all of them painted? I don't really see the point…" Taliveth snorts, his head cocking to an adorable puppy-angle. « It's FUN. That's all! Leave one claw unpainted on each foot. As an accent. » A'ndi tips his head up to squuiiiint dubiously at his dearest lifemate, but finally concedes defeat with a sigh. "If it makes you happy, I guess. I'll need to find the stuff though."

Such a shame that this cozy little scene is about to get disrupted, Caelisth is the first to arrive, stopping briefly to let Vani and her armful of stuff off before considerately winging aloft again. "A'ndi? Are you home?" If she sounds muffled that is because she is, she can barely see over the armful of material she is attempting to bring into the weyr. She might even bump into the entry arch briefly before correcting course and striding forwards.

There's enough room for another dragon right? Because Ohanaveth's fat butt is INCOMING. Without even a hello A'hali shifts himself off his dragon and goes right to the edge where some ropes are dangling off of Ohanaveth's legs. A'hali is just going to get right to work undoing them though so that the bulky dragon can get himself off quickly. IT IS A DRAGON PARADE. (Hopefully Taliveth likes it.) "YOU HAVE IT SECURED D'EX?" Lalala, yes he's yelling. Yes it's a little weird.

The last visitor makes no attempt to land, there isn't room right now, but Zynth's wings pull back, ropes dangling from his legs as well. "YES! PULL IT UP!!!" The shift of ropes as Ohanaveth lands has Zynth jerking forward slightly, far too close to the cliff wall for D'ex's liking, though now it might be apparent that Whatever Ohanaveth is attached to, the Blue is also helping hoist it up. Two browns makes the space on the ledge look a bit tight, they better figure something out if everyone/thing is going to fit.

Ohanaveth will make it simple and leave Zynth to do the heavy lifting along with A'hali's more than capable arms. Whatever they are lifting is heavy though.

"Where else would I be?" is A'ndi's shrugged response for Vani. Which is true. He doesn't get out much. All offers by wingmates for drinks and bonding are regularly turned down. Both brows raise at the greenrider's armful of stuff and he begins to ask, "What's all that shi-" And then there's yelling and A'ndi blinkblinks at the weyr entrance. "… What. What is happening." Taliveth is being a good boy and staying inside in his bed so as to not take up any ledge space with his bulk, but he does peek his face out and announce to all and sundry, « HI EVERYONE! It's so nice to see you! Are we having a party?! » The last word is emphasized with a burst of space-light-tye-dye.

Vani is attempting to get her chin up over the crap in her arms so she can watch A'hali use his more than capable arms (She likes to watch okay?). "All this shit is yours!" She announces with all the love. "HAPPY TURNDAY!" And she's just going to unload all the cushions and throws and bits and pieces so that she can…oversee the rest of this surprise delivery. "And well, you kept on being such a bitch about that couch thing…" SO they ignored him anyways. SURPRISE!

Vani <3's A'ndi, all the <3's

Grunt grunt grunt as the thing gets pulled up. It's all shaky and stuff and it's taking some time. "Little slower Zynth?" A'hali just talking right to the blue which is unusual. Then yelling down to D'ex, "Catching on anything?"

The blue pulls back, his wing-beats slowing as directed, D'ex himself is cussing. Yes it did catch on something, just give it a moment, okay, the cussing fades, "GOT IT!" The blue pulls up again, completely ignoring his brown brother's welcome in favor of not killing his rider or destroying the gift. One thing at a time

"It's… not my turnday…" A'ndi mumbles as he watches Vani divest herself of the home decor. He picks up a cushion carefully, as if it might bite, and examines it. Turning it this way, that way. "What does this have to do with a couch?" But even as he says it, it dawns on him. The cushion is abandoned and A'ndi goes quickly to the weyr entrance to gape in disbelief at this complicated delivery. "What is this?!" HE'S SO OFFENDED because he's in shock or something. Taliveth noses at the pillow, whuffling it, and sends privately to Vani, « It's soft like a little lamb. I LOVE soft surprises! »

Vani grins delightedly at Taliveth, seeing as A'ndi has abandoned her. "That one can be just for you, Taliveth." She answers that private little aside before following A'ndi out (He makes a better door than a window, and she's missing out on watch Hal FLEX). "Oh, my bad." She murmurs as she passes A'ndi, not that she sounds particularly repentant. "This is ALL A'hali's idea." She may not be happy with the reverence her clutch-sibs have for her weyrmate (but not her…and that’s where she gets a lil :| about things~), but she'll use it. Standing carefully out of the way, she'll do some mysterious waving which may or may not help matters as the couch comes in for its final landing pass.

A little at a time it inches its way up until what is being lifted becomes clear. It's a WRAPPED UP BLANKET A'NDI. Well, that's what it looks like since it was wrapped up to protect what is underneath from dings as it is lifted up the stone outside. With Zynth's help A'hali maneuvers it onto the ledge firmly and then shoves it out of the way so the blue can go get D'ex. Hands begin to pat at his pants, "Knife…" Apparently he forgot it. :( D'EX VANI SAVE HIM.

No knife? Then Zynth remains attached to the gift, clearly unable to get D'ex. Though the blue now flies closer to the ledge, his uneasy hover, tries to remain in place to avoid yanking the big item back off of the ledge, the ropes hang slack, but not slack enough to swoop back down for his rider. D'ex below can't see the hold up, his own rope for controlling the thing's assent is tossed aside, "ZYNTH? A'HALI?" What is happening up there? « Just wait a second. I'm not loose. »

Taliveth makes an audible dragon-gasp and snatches the pillow up in his big ol paws. yaaaaas my preciouuuussss. Tentatively, A'ndi fetches a hunting knife from his general supply area near the entrance and offers it silently to A'hali. And then steps to the edge of the ledge (RHYMING) to peer down with a frown at D'ex. "… Hi?" He's just very suspicious of this entire thing.

he's not gonna help or anything useful like that

besides the knife. otherwise you nerds are on your own

GDI — HASTILY REWRITES EVERYTHING, a BREAD KNIFE A'NDI, BREAD KNIFE! :P

But it's not bread!

ahahahhaa

I mean does A'ndi even own a legit bread knife?

he's not that sophisticated guys

gdi everyone needs to supply andi with the basics of life

He needs help.

Coasters and Couches and CLEAN YOUR WEYR.

he has a place to make foods and a hunting knife to kill and cut and a thing to sleep on WHAT ELSE DO YOU NEED

NO COASTERS I DRAW THE LINE AT COASTERS

Vani boogles first at A'hali, shaking her head at the danger he's putting her future children (and current happiness!) in! "I still have to get the 'other stuff.'" She hisses at A'hali as A'ndi hands over the hunting knife. Sure she would have grabbed a kitchen knife of dubious sharpness, but she would totally have been more helpful! Just as helpful as she is being grabbing the rope to hold it steady so A'hali can cut Zynth loose.

"Thanks." A'hali takes the HUNTING KNIFE and saws away at the ropes to free Zynth as quickly as possible. As he does so he glances up at Vani, "Once Zynth comes Caelisth can come get you?" DOES THAT WORK? A'ndi and D'ex have no idea what they're talking about~~~ BWHAHAHAHAHAHA.

D'ex stands on the ledge below Taliveth's, the owner apparently okay with this for now. Leap frogging this gift up the cliff was a trip, and while perhaps Ohanaveth could carry it all the way up in one go, the smaller Zynth could not. Zynth waits patciently to be cut loose, but D'ex waits very IMPAITENTLY. When ropes are free, the blue shakes himself, not caring for the loose ropes that fall to the river below, then swoops down to his rider. They were totally hijacked into helping with this, so D'ex is hoping for some sort of thanks for their part. Like a free round at the Kitten or something.

Vani gives A'hali a bright little smile, before leaning in quickly to give in a kiss. Look away, for it is sweet and swift. "I'll be right back." She promises, even as Caelisth squeezes herself carefully into the space available and the greenrider mounts. There are no words for the other two men, because IT IS A SECRET. But the green pair are off and away just in time to avoid all the heavy lifting! Presumably they won't be back until all the gross sweaty stuff is gone and they can appreciate the after-effects. lalalala~ #jumpingposeorder\o/

"What're you guys talking about?" A'ndi demands, arms folding as he looks between Vani and Hal. "What else is happening? … Why do you all keep coming to my house in the middle of the night?" I mean it has become kind of a pattern. But then Vani is gone! And A'ndi is left to stare in frowning, puzzled consternation at this blanketed thing. Taliveth sticks his head out and HONKS at them all. He really wants to see The Thing.

"Hello A'ndi." Long time no see, right? "D'ex, catch the ropes?" IT is time to UNCOVER THIS BABY. The knife is going to get plenty of attention as A'hali saws off the ropes that are wrapped tightly around the THING and pushes off the blanket. "Do you want the blanket too?" A'hali is just going to offhandedly offer it to A'ndi as the THING comes into view. It's a SOFA A'NDI. Made out of teak wood, polished to a bright shine, and just begging for the pillows Vani brought in earlier to be placed upon it.

Zynth's lands almost immediatly after Cealish takes off, look at this traffic! Ropes, here they are, and that blanket? It is taken in a moment, and D'ex starts to fold the thing, "Ey, A'ndi, you can't say No, it took like, an hour to get that thing here and A'hali doesn't take No for an answer." Although, D'ex's tone might imply that he wouldn't take No either, given the effort it took to get the thing here.

« Have they finished moving the couch yet? » Caelisths's cosmos intrudes on her brown brothers universe. There is a hint in her swirling galaxies that she and her rider will not make a reappearance until that task is achieved.

"Yes," in regards to the blanket that is being so neatly folded to perfection. Who says no to a free blankey? But it's kind of a distracted-sounding answer because A'ndi is busy staring at the shiny new couch. "Vani got you to buy me a couch?" Because this is all because of their slumber parties, right? He blinks at Hal. Then at D'ex. "And they got you to help? What'd they bribe you with?" There's no heat in his words, though. A'ndi just seems really weirded out. "I guess we should, uh, move it in…?" The confusion shows up in the erratic swirl of Tali's orbiting space junkyard as he replies to his sister, « No. But soon I think! I wish they'd hurry up! Do you think I could put Vulheimurath on it? »

"No, I made it." A'hali says it super off hand, like it's NO BIG THING. He's totally playing it smooth. "D'ex said he would help." They totally did NOT bribe him with anything tyvm. Just… y'know, didn't give him much of a choice in the matter. Just showed up and were like 'YOU ARE GOING TO HELP US WITH THIS THING. "Grab the other side?" He's totally indicating the two of them. Because… he's bigger than BOTH of them.

This makes Vani happy n.n

Hal is big enough for everyone ahahaAHAHAHAHA :D :D :D :D

Excuse you, D'ex is folding this blanket, he can't help move a couch yet. The thing is smoothed carefully, creased, there, see? So much better. "Clearly I am helping, but some reparations are expected." Like beer. Or something. The folded blanket is handed to Hal, he better not mess it up, then D'ex walks over to a side of the sofa, "Okay, come on A'ndi, stop with the gawking and let's fix your weyr." Because if D'ex is here, he is totally going to clean some more. The place was not livable yet.

Caelisth keeps a tendril of thought in her brothers awareness, she has learned that sometimes, particularly with Vulheimurath is discussed Taliveth can be distracted. « I wish they would hurry up too! I have a SURPRISE! » Diamond flashes of new born galaxies sprinkle across the link in excitement. « But shush… »

WAIT WHAT. A'ndi needs one more moment to gawk, D'ex. "You built it?" Disbelief. But he does manage to make himself useful and will assist with the moving. In silence. Frowning, brow-furrowed silence while looking very hard at the couch. Inside, Taliveth's forked tail tip begins to wag. « Is the surprise TUNNELSNAKES? I squished one under my foot today! It felt good! But I kind of feel bad that it was smushed?????? »

P. S. Because I still need to get used to having a firelizard; Snowdrop has been here THE WHOLE TIME on her perch and she's very comfortable and could kind of care less about all ya'll.

Gawking over? Thank goodness. Only the 'I build it' did D'ex pause, this was news to even him. With the couch moved safely inside, Zynth relaxes to settle down on this ledge as if he owns the place. "We need to fix this place. A'ndi, I need you to leave me here a few hours." That way D'ex could FIX it without someone glaring over his shoulder. Besides, with this new couch, they would need to move things around, and D'ex was pretty sure that he was the only one who knew how to clean. Or function at all really.

They'll get the couch moved quickly enough, even if D'ex does have to do some precleaning along the way. Once it's installed A'hali totally stands back and admires the work before clapping A'ndi firmly on the back. Hopefully it isn't too hard cuz sometimes A'hali does that when he's feeling super satisfied with himself. "Now. Need a table for Vani to put the things on."

Oh and OHanaveth will totally be all, « It is done. » This time for realz.

Just like MAGIC! (It was Ohanaveth~ <3) Vani and Caelisth arrive just as things are settled satisfactorily. « Zynth I need to land. » Zynth does not own this particular ledge, and Caelisth is laden with her own burdens else she would prove it. This is the reason Vani isn't here to tell D'ex to do anatomically improbable things once he starts trying to take over A'ndi's weyr as well. So for the time being they're just flap flap flapping, waiting for space to land.

#hovering

The weyr is clean! Just not, you know, D'ex-clean. But. A'ndi does not object to the bluerider touching his things. And he's not glaring either. The brows are still furrowed, but in somehow a much different way than usual. "You.. built an entire couch. For me." And now that it's settled he's going to sit on it, heavily. The brownrider looks just a tad overwhelmed. "Why? … What things?" There is a table; the small dinky crappy table. But it's a table nonetheless. Taliveth is just the happiest little clam of a dragon and he whuffles at D'ex as he passes by. « Caelisth! Did you bring my tunnelsnakes?! »

« Did you? Why? » Perhaps he should ask for a password. The blue doesn't move for a moment, after all, he watched Caelisth do a lot not helping when they were hefting that couch up. However, now was not the time for a confrontation. Zynth stands and shifts to make room for the green, though it might be noted that he does take his time with it. The wuffling will have D'ex a bit uneasy, but he sets to cleaning the moment that the couch is placed. So much to do. So much. But he would do it. This weyr would be livable yet!

"Because you are important." A'hali says it like it is the MOST SIMPLE THING in the whole world. "And you needed a couch." A'hali works on the table to make sure it's clean enough to eat off of while D'ex cleans other place. Though he will say, "D'ex, you should stop."

D'ex ain't stopping

Taliveth is staring really intensely at D'ex. dear d'ex do you luv me yet? check yes [] or no []

:(

grumpy pants

Why you sleep on my ledge all the time?! He blocks my ledge! *ranting about inconvenience of other dragons on his ledge*

BECAUSE I LOVE YOU

It takes some ORGANIZATION once Vani gets settled but it totally gets done without the second big surprise being spoiled completely. Eventually everything will be set up though, a wrapped box, and a CAKE. "D'ex. You do not have to clean on your turnday." Carry sofas, yes, clean, no. Also, Yes, D'ex, you are 25 today. Congratulations, but it's your turn day and now they're going to have a PARTY. A small 4-person party, but a PARTY. And yes, there is even booze.

Okay so Hal lays down some Serious Friendship stuff and A'ndi just stares up at him a moment, all Taliveth-starry-eyed. They're not always as different as they seem, the brown and his rider. But he looks down quickly, bangs falling to hide his face. "… Thanks." As for D'ex and his turnday, the only present A'ndi has to offer is, "If he wants to, he can clean and… organize or whatever the fuck… whatever he feels like, I guess." The world, it's falling apart right now, what is happening.

Vani is just going to settle behind A'hali for a little bit. Watching as the former room-mates take in the myriad of surprises that they had planned for this evening. There is a wicked gleam in her eyes as she leans a bit closer so she can whisper in his ear. Perhaps this will be a four person party only for a little while, even as she steps away to run fingers over the cushions her and Caelisth carried (as opposed to the wood frame the other guys did)
You overhear Vani mutter, "… … … 'test' … … … … we should … D'ex's before … give it to him." to A'hali.
"I MADE THESE" Vani informs everyone loudly AS THE MUTTER GODS COMPLETELY LET HER DOWN. She's talking about the cushions.

D'ex is stunned, was that today? How would A'hali know if D'ex didn't know? Wait. He had a dragon that took forays through his memory, maybe that was it. Not like Zynth was going to tell him, but perhaps? The cleaning is paused to turn around and stare, D'ex's turn for gawking. "Wait, what? That's today?" And a party? For him? Like the couch was a sweet gesture for A'ndi, and D'ex had been volen-told to help, so he did, but this? The mind wasn't turning. "Jeez, you're making me feel old." However, the current item being cleaned is put, temporarily, to the side. The muttering pulls his attention briefly, "What that?" That was his name, right? People should not be saying his name with that look. Wait, what? D'ex blinks, "Good job?" Cushions? Turnday? Huh?

A'hali was doing okay until that whisper from Vani. Then he's going to go slightly red and BUSY HIMSELF with uncapping some drinks for all of them. And then cake gets put out, and that box gets handed over to D'ex. "For you to open when you get home. So it does not get lost here." And so that A'hali doesn't get in trouble for it. It's totally a party now, with all of the things going on that this quartet gets into. And honestly, in the end, A'hali is really happy because this is a win all over the place and let's be honest, Vani'll get a super warm night cuz he's so happy.

P. P. S. A'ndi eventually passes out on his beautiful new couch.
