She knew as soon as she dragged her eyes open it was going to be one of those days. A two run day, three if she could squeeze it in.

She was certainly no stranger to days where her feet just could NOT stay still, but as the season continued its slow march towards summer they were becoming more frequent. Why did waiting take so long? The rituals of waking seemed to take forever, interspersed with fidgety glances at the newly bought dress hanging from its hook, or the book with a flower pressed between the pages as a book mark. Change. She was certainly no stranger to change either.

As her restless feet bring her closer to the outside, closer to her run she grins. Not all change was bad, she was learning. Blinking at the burst of lush Southern’s spring green her mind flicks back to the sere brown harshness of Igen where she first loved to run. Change. After completing careful stretches she takes a deep breath and sets her thinking feet on their path, letting her thoughts thud to their rhythm.

WAIT/want. STAY/go. FRIENDS/alone. FEAR/joy.

Where once she dreamed of change from a dragons back, now she lets her travelling feet reduce the noise to the essence of the storm inside her.

WANT/wait. GO/stay. ALONE/friends. JOY/fear.

Her treacherous feet almost take her down another path, to the curious clearing of long dry ships. The storm swirls anew, her rhythm falters until her feet are set on a new, unfamiliar path. Not yet. Why did waiting take so long?

When would the storm strike her again?

She knew today was one of those days. A two run day, three if she could squeeze it in.
